What’s on your mind?

What’s on your mind?

That’s what Facebook asks when you go to make a new post.

What if I don’t want to share what’s really on my mind?

It’s not always nice, it’s not the censored version wrapped up in an easy to swallow take or with easily spun words. It’s actually scratched up, dented, scarred, bruised, and at times raw in there. It’s also words you hold in even as your trying not to cry yet again. It’s sometimes painful to remember. It’s painful words to hear or to feel. it’s just those ones that haunt your dreams and anxiety, and turn them into nightmares.

It’s not all cute cats and funny memes, it’s not all pretty pictures and laughter. It’s not all rainbows and positive notes, quick little quotes and cute little doodles. It’s sometimes those things, but it’s also not always friendly to you or even me. But they are screaming all the same and I’m heated like a flame that has no where to go but burn it all down.
